Slovensko má nádej na zlepšenie v epidemiologickej situácii
Bratislava 30. marca (TASR) – Slovensko môže dúfať v zlepšenie epidemiologickej situácie v súvislosti s koronavírusmi, uvádza sa v otvorenom liste hlavného hygienika Slovenska Jana Mikasa s tým, že veľa závisí od správania ľudí počas nadchádzajúcich veľkonočných sviatkov.
Mikas poukázal na skutočnosť, že jeden rok pandémie zasiahol celú spoločnosť a že pôvodne krátkodobé opatrenia sa stali súčasťou života ľudí na dlhšie obdobie. Podľa hlavného hygienika boli posledné pár mesiace veľmi ťažké, pretože nemocnice boli zaplnené pacientmi s COVID-19 a tisíce rodín prišli o svojich blízkych. “Ocitli sme sa presne v situácii, ktorej sme sa oprávnene obávali,” uviedol.
Posledné štatistiky však dávajú Slovensku dôvod na opatrný optimizmus.
Mikas chápe, že bude ťažké vzdať sa stretnutí s rodinou a priateľmi, spoločných osláv viery a veľkonočných tradícií. “Napriek tomu to musíme urobiť.” Po Vianociach sme všetci videli, koľko môžeme zaplatiť za pár neopatrných dní. Nedovoľme, aby sa to opakovalo, “zdôraznil.
Hlavný hygienik vyzval ľudí, aby sa v kritickej chvíli chránili pred infekciou a nešírili ju medzi svojimi blízkymi. Zdôraznil, že práve disciplína povedie k zlepšeniu situácie, vďaka ktorej sa deti budú môcť vrátiť do školy a bude možné postupne zmierňovať opatrenia.
Slovakia Has Hope for Improvement in Epidemiological Situation
Bratislava, March 30 (TASR) – Slovakia can hope for an improvement in the epidemiological situation regarding coronavirus, according to an open letter by Slovakia’s chief hygienist Jan Mikas, adding that much depends on people’s behavior during the upcoming Easter holiday.
Mikas pointed to the fact that one year of the pandemic has affected the whole of society and that originally short-term measures have become a part of people’s lives for a longer period. According to the chief hygienist, the past few months were very difficult, as hospitals were filled with COVID-19 patients and thousands of families lost their loved ones. “We found ourselves in exactly the situation that we rightly feared,” he stated.
However, the latest statistics give Slovakia reason for cautious optimism.
Mikas understands that it will be difficult to give up meetings with family and friends, joint celebrations of faith and Easter traditions. “Nevertheless, we must do it. After Christmas, we all saw how much we can pay for a few careless days. Let’s not allow this to be repeated,” he stressed.
The chief hygienist called on people to protect themselves from infection at a critical moment and not to spread it among their loved ones. He emphasized that it is discipline that will lead to an improvement in the situation, thanks to which children will be able to return to school and it will be possible to ease the measures gradually.
