All St. John the Baptist Society Branch 181 members and their guests are invited to attend the Annual Family Picnic to be held at Mammoth Park, Mammoth, PA at Pavilion #13 on Sunday, June 30, 2024. Registration starts at noon with the picnic beginning at 1:00 p.m. Members are asked to bring their favorite covered dish to share.

Drinks and main entrées will be provided by the branch. Contact Vicki at 724-547-0803 for more information or directions.

Applications for the 2024 Branch 181 Scholarship for high school seniors planning to attend college or technical/trade school in the Fall are still being accepted through May 31. Email Vicki at vicki15@zoominternet.net to receive an application.

BRANCH 181 YOUTH MEMBER SCHOLASTIC ASSISTANCE

For the Fall 2024 start of the academic year, the St. John the Baptist Society – Branch 181 of United, PA, will be offering $500.00 scholarships to eligible high school senior members planning to attend college or career/technical school. These will be one-time scholarships selected by an independent panel that will evaluate each application. The number of scholarships awarded is dependent on the number of eligible applicants.

Youth members may be eligible to qualify for a scholarship if the following requirements are met:

• You are a member in good standing of the First Catholic Slovak Union, St. John the Baptist Society – Branch 181.

• You have been a member of Branch 181 for 4 years prior to applying with a minimum $5000 insurance policy.

• You are a high school senior preparing to graduate in 2024 and have applied for the 2024 Fall term at a qualifying Educational institution.
