Symbolický krst novej budovy Generálneho konzulátu Slovenskej republiky v New Yorku

Dňa 10. decembra 2019 sa uskutočnil symbolický krst novej budovy Generálneho konzulátu Slovenskej republiky v New Yorku. Slávnostného aktu sa zúčastnili predseda vlády Slovenskej republiky Peter Pellegrini, minister zahraničných vecí a európskych záležitostí Slovenskej republiky Miroslav Lajčák a bývalý minister financií Slovenskej republiky, súčasný guvernér Národnej banky Slovenska Peter Kažimír, ako aj ďalší vzácni hostia.

Na úvod odzneli štátne hymny SR a USA v podaní jedenásťročnej Ariany Matolákovej. Hostí privítala generálna konzulka Ladislava Begeç; hosťom sa následne prihovorili predseda vlády Slovenskej republiky Peter Pellegrini a minister zahraničných vecí a európskych záležitostí Slovenskej republiky Miroslav Lajčák, ktorí následne slávnostne odhalili tabuľu s názvom Generálneho konzulátu Slovenskej republiky v New Yorku. Táto tabuľa bude po dokončení rekonštrukcie spolu so štátnou vlajkou zavesená na vonkajšej fasáde budovy. Súčasťou ceremónie bolo aj podpísanie pamätnej listiny, ako spomienky na tento významný moment. Dôstojnou súčasťou podujatia bolo aj ekumenické požehnanie zástupcami katolíckej a evanjelickej cirkvi a židovského náboženstva. Program ukončilo vystúpenie Luby Mason.

Nová budova Generálneho konzulátu Slovenskej republiky v New Yorku sa nachádza v prestížnej štvrti NYC – Upper East Side (167 E 73rd street). Do ukončenia rekonštrukcie bude Generálny konzulát SR v NYC naďalej fungovať v súčasných priestoroch (801 Second Avenue, 12th floor).

Dedication Ceremony of the New Premises of the Consulate General of the Slovak Republic in New York

On December 10, 2019, the new building of the Consulate General of the Slovak Republic in New York was symbolically unveiled. The ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Peter Pellegrini, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajčák, former Minister of Finance of the Slovak Republic and current Governor of the National Bank of Slovakia Peter Kažimír as well as other dignitaries.

The event opened with the singing of the national anthems of the Slovak Republic and the USA by 11-year-old Ariana Matoláková. Guests were then welcomed by Consul General Ladislav Begeç; Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Peter Pellegrini and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajčák delivered remarks followed by unveiling a plaque bearing the name of the Consulate General of the Slovak Republic in New York. This will be displayed on the exterior facade of the building together with the national flag after the reconstruction. The ceremony also included the signing of a Proclamation of the dedication. The ecumenical blessing of the building was performed by representatives of the Catholic and Evangelical Church and of the Jewish religion. The program ended with a performance by Luba Mason.

The new building of the Consulate General of the Slovak Republic in New York is located in the prestigious NYC – Upper East Side (167 E 73rd street). Until its completion, the Consulate General of the Slovak Republic in NYC will continue to operate in its current premises (801 Second Avenue, 12th floor).
